Part 1 I am in disbelief at the way the Ardmore location handled a recent delivery situation. I am in such shock because I’ve always had very good experiences with this appliance company in the past. Maybe I caught them on a bad day but they clearly bumbled several times while coordinating my recent delivery. (I am stuck in a traffic jam now so I can be specific on thier mistakes) As a property manager and having used this company several times in the past I know there are several variables and issues that could arise when coordinating a delivery. Therefore, I did my normal/regular due diligence prior. With that being said I was supposed get a scheduling call the day before but that did not happen. When I called the delivery department they told me they had the wrong phone number for me which explains why I never got the notification call on my cell. (OK… things aren’t that bad yet because the delivery is not supposed to happen till tomorrow right??) They took down the correct number which is my cell phone and said the delivery department will call you with enough notice tomorrow. I.explained to the gentleman that it was important I get that call with enough notice because I would not be on site until 9:30am. (This is where the problem started) The next morning they called all right but because of bad cell reception I missed thier call. I quickly listened to the voicemail which I saved. They left a message stating they were five minutes away from delivering and are calling so late because they just now got the right contact number. How could anyone think five minutes is enough time or notice for delivery especially in my case when I was 30 minutes away. When I called the delivery department back to tell them they did not give me enough notice… They apologized but told me they were basically onsite and were making the delivery anyway. What should have been a small issue is now turning into a problem for me. They already knew several things when they told me there was nothing they could do: -they knew that there had been miscommunication on their part with the phone number issue, -they knew that they were contacting me way later than is acceptable for notice on a delivery -because they messed up they knew it would have been appropriate to ask me when would would be a better time for me. No such responsibility or good customer service action was taken for thier service failures...in fact I was made to feel like I did something wrong. While attempting to explain the situation I was told some not so nice things. Nothing vulgar mind you but definitely not customer service oriented. Oh then I was hung up on!!!! I am hoping I did catch them on a bad day and in the end they will make right on the situation. Stay tuned for an update in Part 2.
